Webinar on Diagnostic Algorithm for Vesiculo-Bullous Lesions

The Department of Oral Pathology and its sister concern Oral Biology organized a national virtual webinar on “Diagnostic Algorithm for Vesiculo Bullous Lesions” on April 02, 2022. The speaker is Dr.S.Gowri, Professor & Head of the Department, Oral Pathology & Microbiology, Sri Ramakrishna Dental College & Hospital, Coimbatore. The presentation was engaging, with many clinical images of various skin diseases and associated oral symptoms. The etiopathogenesis of vesiculobullous lesions including pemphigus, pemphigoid, and viral infections that cause blisters was explained in a way that was easy to recall. The distribution of the lesion, type of epithelium involved in the oral mucosa, size of configuration of vesicles healing with scar and without scar were enumerated clearly. The superinfection of the existing vesiculobullous lesion were also mentioned.  The histopathological features along with immunofluorescence were described with the appropriate pictures. The students and faculties from various colleges around the state attended the webinar. The participants were highly satisfied with the content provided to them and we received excellent feedback from the participants.
