The Department of Oral Pathology & Oral Biology, Saveetha Dental College, under SIMATS, successfully hosted the 4th International Conference on Craniofacial Pathology & Biology (ICCPB 2026) on January 23 and 24, bringing together national and international experts to deliberate on Oral Lichenoid Disorders (OLD). The conference was presided over by Dr. N. M. Veeraiyan, Chancellor, SIMATS; Dr. Ashwanikumar, Vice Chancellor; Dr. Sheeja Varghese, Registrar; Dr. Aravind Kumar, Dean, SDC; Dr. Nadeem, President, IAOMP; and Dr. Gururaj, Secretary, IAOMP, and was accredited with 12 DCI-CDE points. Following the welcome address by Dr. Ramya Ramadoss, Organising Secretary, the highlight was an international, consensus-driven panel moderated by Dr. Pratibha Ramani, Organising Chair, with experts Dr. K. Ranganathan, Dr. Rajiv Desai, Dr. T. V. Narayan, Dr. W. M. Tilakaratne, Dr. Thomas George K., Dr. Vijay Kartik R., Dr. Anand N., Dr. M. Arvind, and Dr. T. N. Uma Maheshwari, addressing diagnostic challenges, malignant potential, and clinicopathologic standardization in OLD. The conference also announced the successful international publication of the OSMF consensus report from the previous ICCPB edition. Scientific highlights included a keynote by Dr. Isak Demirel on host–pathogen interactions and the signing of an MoU with Örebro University, Sweden. Plenary sessions by Dr. Tamilmani Vairapperumal, Dr. Janani R., and Mr. Raghavan Sridhar emphasized interdisciplinary innovation in biomaterials and healthcare. A major milestone was the institution of the “Dr. N. M. Veeraiyan Global Top Five Oral Pathologist Award”, to be conferred annually from 2027. The Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Dr. G. S. Kumar for his four decades of service, academic leadership, and role as Editor of Orban’s Textbook of Oral Pathology. The conference concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Monal Yuvanati, Assistant Dean of Faculty.

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Greetings to Dear Participants!
Your Scientific Presentations can be in the form of E-Posters or Papers. Only one scientific presentation is permitted for every individual (paper or poster).
The Presentations can be categorised into the following headings:
A. Pathology
B. Biomaterials and allied sciences
C. Biology
The sub-categories of the presentations are:
1. Original Research
2. Sine quanon- one pathology/ lesion/structure/material in detail
3. Clinical image
4. Designs and innovations
5. Hypotheses
v Abstract should be an original article and is required to have an Objective(s), Method(s), Result(s), Conclusion(s) and Reference (Maximum 5). The Last date for the submission of the Abstract for Paper/Poster is 02 February 2025.
v The Certificate of paper/poster presentation will only be given to the presenter.
v Only one author and one co-author are allowed per poster presentation. The certificate will be given to the Author, and Co-Author (Not more than two certificates per poster presentation)
v The author and co-author should be registered for the conference.
v Previously published abstracts (in print or electronically) or those presented at other meetings/ conferences are not allowed.
v Abstract should be not more than 200 words. Please capitalize the first letter of each word in the Title (Times New Roman, Font size 12, 1.5 spacing between the lines).
ABSTRACT ACCEPTANCE IS BASED ON THE FOLLOWING MERIT
1. Registered delegates only will be selected to present at the conference on the basis of the scientific quality of the work as judged from the abstract.
2. Selection of the abstracts will be made by the reviewers and their decision is final.
SCIENTIFIC PRESENTATION GUIDELINES
1. E-posters are only allowed. The e-poster has to be a single PowerPoint slide.
2. The duration of the poster presentation will be 3 minutes and 2 minutes for discussion.
3. The oral presentation will last 6 minutes, and the discussion will last 2 minutes. The PowerPoint presentation is mandatory.
4. Abstracts should be uploaded in Google from provided in the conference website
5. Posters need to be set up for display during the specified time by the organizing committee. Judges will be viewing and discussing the posters with the authors at the scheduled hours and rapporteurs will be evaluating the posters. The schedule will be made available on the website.
6. Evaluations of both the displayed poster and the subsequent discussion will be a factor in awarding of the Best Poster prize.
7. The Best Paper/Poster prizes (session-wise) will be awarded their certificates during the valedictory function
Full length Article Submission guidelines
v The length of the written paper should be restricted to 6 to 8 pages of A4 size including figures, tables, graphics, references, etc.
v Papers should be in Microsoft Word format
v Papers should be typed in Times New Roman of 12 size and lines should be single-spaced.
v The text should be aligned to both left and right margins (justify) and do not use columns
v Symbols should not be hand drawn/written in equations, tables, graphs/line diagrams /text.

Department of Oral Pathology & Oral Biology, Saveetha Dental College, conducted a program on “Startup Opportunities for Beginners”- Pitchfest’ for internal and external faculty and students; on 24th January, 9am at SSM Hall, SaveethaDental college (SIMATS city campus), Chennai. Chief Guest, Mr.Sivarajah Ramanathan, Mission Director & CEO, Tamilnadu Startup and Innovation Mission , Government of Tamilnadu was the guest of Honor and he delivered a lecture on “Startup Opportunities for Beginners”. Mr.Ritesh Hebbar, Managing Partner, Hebbar Medical equipments, Chennai gave a lecture on process involved from ideation to commercialization. Pitch fest was conducted and participants were assessed for parameters related to novelty, technology readiness level and commercialization potential. The session was judged by Dr.Sagar Moses and Mr. Ritesh Hebbar. The program was attended by 170 participants.
