The Department of Oral Pathology and its sister concern Oral Biology had organized a guest lecture on “Music therapy & its applications in Health Care” on Aug 17th, 2023. Dr. Uma Prabhu, Vice President, Rotary Club of Industrial City (Coimbatore) was the speaker. She had given an impactful lecture on music based therapeutic approach to address emotional, psychological and physical needs of the individual. Case based discussions on the personalized music interventions to curate health conditions like anxiety, depression, dementia and chronic pain were impressive. The audience were interactive, receptive and open-minded about the topic. The session was moderated by Dr. Ramya, professor and head, Department of Oral biology, Saveetha dental college and hospitals.
